About Pewter

All pewter items shown in this Web catalog are fired in sand molds, each item individually hand cast and carefully polished by skillful artisans to create a brilliant finish. The raw materials of 100% aluminum alloys are heated to a melting point. The molten metal is then poured into prepared sand molds. When cool, the items are separated and hand-filed to remove any excess metal. Each individual item is then strenuously hand cleaned, polished and buffed to a beautiful shine.

In pewter there are normally slight imperfections. Pitting, cooling and buffing marks are all part of the natural manufacturing process, making each piece a unique product of the craftsman's hands. These imperfections are a natural occurrence and are part of each piece's unique charm and will not be considered or viewed as defects.
